In short: your travel history is yours. Milestamps collects no data about you. There is no provider server, no accounts, no analytics services, no advertising.
Travel receipts you put into the app yourself (boarding passes, train tickets, hotel confirmations, photos, check-ins) are evaluated on your device only. Barcode and text recognition run locally (Apple Vision); no content is transmitted to the provider.
Your entries are synced between your own devices through your private iCloud (CloudKit). This data lives in your personal iCloud account with Apple; the app’s provider has no access to it. Apple’s privacy policy applies.
The optional photo backfill reads the capture date and GPS position of your photos locally on the device in order to reconstruct travel days. Your location is determined once, at the moment of a check-in. There is no background tracking.
For map display and car routes the app uses Apple services (MapKit). Map requests (for example the start and end coordinates of a route) are sent to Apple — as with any maps app. Apple’s privacy policy applies.
You can export all data as JSON at any time and delete entries inside the app. If you delete the app and remove its iCloud data, the data is gone completely.
